Urbanization and the Progressive Era

The Progressive Era covers the period of widespread social, economic, and political reform in the United States, spanning the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, ending when the United States enters World War I. 

Possible sub-topics could include:

  • The development of labor unions in the United States
  • Child labor and working conditions in urban centers
  • Second/Third wave immigration from Central and Eastern Europe
  • Local New England history
