Reconstruction Era

The Reconstruction Era covers the aftermath of the American Civil War and the process of reintegrating the former Confederate States back into the United States. 

Possible sub-topics could include:

  • Abolition of slavery and the development of the sharecropping system
  • The development of the Fourteenth and  Fifteenth Amendment
  • The rise of the KKK and other white supremacy groups
  • Post-war economics and taxation of the southern states
