Introduction

Welcome to the Research Guide for CJ700: Master's Thesis I.

This guide is a starting place with some helpful hints and resources you may find useful in the upcoming months. That said, it is only a beginning! There are so many databases and resources to explore in our library. If you ever need help finding a resource or you're stuck in your research, feel free to stop by my office in the library (turn left twice when you enter the library, my office is the second on the left) or the Reference Desk.

Here's a non-comprehensive list of things I can help with:

  • finding books and articles,
  • evaluating those books and articles,
  • using Interlibrary Loan,
  • choosing/narrowing/tweaking a topic for your paper,
  • citing your sources,
  • reading scholarly articles,
  • keeping track of your sources,
  • finding data sets,
  • muddling through encyclopedias, or
  • emotional support (hang in there, you got this!)

Best of luck to all of you, and we look forward to working with you!

Happy Researching!
