In groups, follow the prompt and post a link to your source you select. Evaluate the source and answer the following questions:

  • What information is provided about the source to help you identify what type of source it is (e.g. newspaper article, scholarly journal article, book or ebook, website, etc.)? 
  • Who wrote it or published it, and when?
  • Is lateral or vertical reading more appropriate for determining the credibility and reliability this source?
  • Do you think this is a credible source? Explain your answer, why or why not.

In groups, you will create a citation in MLA style for your source.

  1. Identify the proper format for your source type.
  2. Write the citation on the board under your group number.
  3. Label the components/parts of the citation, e.g. label what is the title, what is the author, etc.
