The Anselmian Network for Racial Justice (ANRJ) is an group of campus community members committed to making the Saint Anselm College campus more inclusive and racially just. We have a number of ongoing projects and initiatives that we are working on in the 2021-2022 academic year, including:
- Co-Curricular Group: This group has already begun work to support current programming efforts on campus. This group will continue to support student efforts as they work to create programs in line with the ANRJ mission. To get involved, contact Wayne Currie or Sue Gabert
- Inventory and Assessment Group: The first phase of this group’s work is to inventory the work that is occurring and to complete an assessment. The second phase will be to share with the larger community the amazing work that is occurring. To get involved, contact Ande Diaz.
- Academic Group: This group is already in motion, but other people may be interested in joining after invited; Steps to embed DEI into curricular development and assessment have already been achieved: applications for core designation, procedures for assessing core learning outcomes, learning outcome language, department self-study guidelines, and more; Faculty-level, Department-level, and college-wide-level groups already have programming underway for this academic year. To get involved, contact Christine Gustafson.
- Community Dialogues and Current Event Response Team: This group will work on developing an institutionalized two-prong approach to community conversations. One will be an ongoing structure that provides an opportunity for our community members to discuss important issues on a regular basis. The other approach will be in response to current events. These will be facilitated by a group of faculty, staff, and students who have been trained in dialogue and trauma-informed response. To get involved, contact Nickie Lora, Sara Smits Keeney, or Aubrey Scheopner Torres.
