Get Full Text of Articles

In many cases, you will find the full-text of articles directly in the journal databases. Here are some tips for how to get the full-text in other situations:

In the databases, click to see if the full text is in another database or in Geisel Library's collection, or if you can request a copy via Interlibrary Loan

If you have an article's citation information in hand, search the journal's name in Journal Finder to see if the library has access to the year you need

Core Databases

CINAHL Complete [EBSCO]
Core nursing research tool for nursing and allied health professionals, provides fast and easy access to top nursing and allied health journals, evidence-based care sheets, quick lessons and continuing education modules.

This database contains full text for many of the most used journals found in the CINAHL index and includes thousands of journals that provide information on dozens of nursing specialties such as speech language pathology, nutrition, general health and medicine.
Cochrane Collection Plus [EBSCO]
A source of health care data combining the NHS Economic Evaluation Database (NHS EED) and Health Technology Assessments (HTA) with:
- Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials
- Cochrane Clinical Answers
- Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (CDSR)
- Cochrane Methodology Register (CMR)

Nursing & Allied Health Database [PROQUEST]
Contains scholarly and trade journals related to the field of nursing. Also contains evidence-based resources, dissertations, and Medcom training videos.
PubMed
Free database of biomedical citations that includes the contents of Medline, plus additional material from life science and biochemistry journals. **Look for the WebBridge link to place an Interlibrary Loan request.

Millions of citations, derived from thousands of biomedical and life science journals, and indexed with Medical Subject Headings (MeSH®) from the NLM controlled vocabulary.

Extending back to 1946, annual input now exceeds 700,000 citations.

Public Health Database [PROQUEST]
Starting point for public health information and research.

Includes current newspaper articles for uncovering timely results on the latest breaking topics pertaining to public health.

Journal Finder

Use the Journal Finder search box when you know exactly what you're trying to find. E.g. you have a citation from a bibliography and want to know if the library has access to the article. Use this box to search by the journal title.

Note: If the journal title is abbreviated in the citation, you'll need to find the full title to type into the search box.

Google Scholar

Use Google Scholar to search for articles that may not be in the library's databases. Google Scholar searches nearly all publisher websites.
