PO203 Research Methods - Cleven: Activity

Library Activity Part 1

In groups of 2 or 3, open the assigned article to your group and read the abstract.

On the white board, write the author/s last name/s, journal title (ok to abbreviate) and date. Write what the article is about in 5 words or less.

Library Activity Part 2

Search for a second source using the first source provided to your group. Find a source from the bibliography of your first source, relating to the topic.

If your source is a book, search the library catalog to see if we have the book. If it is a print book, not an eBook, write down the call number on your activity worksheet. Skim the contents and intro.

If your source is an article, search the library databases or Google Scholar to find the full text of the article. Read the abstract.

On the white board, write the author/s last name/s, journal title or book title, and date. Write where the resource was found (e.g. database name) and what the article or book is about in 5 words or less.
