Many research databases offer cite this item features, which generate citations in the most popular styles (MLA, APA, etc.) for any source that you find. You can then save, download, email, or copy-paste these directly into your papers.
View the next two tabs for information about EBSCO and ProQuest databases and their citation features.
Note: Make sure to double check your citations by hand with the library's Citing Sources guide. Citation generators are helpful, but are not always the most accurate. Database generated citations often have the correct information but may also include incorrect formatting or additional, unnecessary information.
Click on the Cite link. Use the right-side scroll bar to find your preferred citation style. Copy/paste into your document.
NOTE: Be sure to double check the citation formats for accuracy. In this example, the title is in all CAPS. No citation style uses all CAPS.
In ProQuest databases:
Click on the Cite link. Select the drop-down tab to find your preferred citation style. Copy/paste into your document.
Note: Be sure to double check the citation formats for accuracy. Each citation style has its own rules for capitalization and punctuation, but no citation style uses all CAPS.
There are many FREE online citation generation websites out there, with EasyBib being the most popular. HOWEVER, online citation generators have many limitations and give users incorrect citations. While these generators may appear to be helpful, you will spend more time correcting the citations.
It is advisable to use the library's Citing Sources guide or contact the Reference Desk (askanselm@anselm.edu) to create citations by hand instead.
