Activity 1

Instructions: 

  1. Look at each source in Padlet, look for information about the place of publication, the author, citations, and the content of the sources
  2. Using the hand out, determine if each source is SCHOLARLY, POPULAR, or OTHER
  3. Click the + button under each source to write a response answering the following questions:
    1. Is this source Scholarly, Popular, or a different type of source (other)
    2. What type of source is this? (Article, book, newspaper, etc...)
    3. What is the name of the journal or who is the publisher of your source
    4. If your source is not scholarly, do you still think it is credible? Why? (Hint: lateral reading)
  4. Be prepared to discuss as a class

If you finish early, try identifying the bonus source
