Student Teaching: Resources for Children

Juvenile Reading Room

Make sure to browse the Juvenile Reading Room, a part of the Curriculum Library located on the lower level of Geisel Library. You can also search the collection by running a search in Library Catalog and limiting it to the "Curriculum Juvenile Room" location.

Children's Literature

Children's Library Databases

Many schools and public libraries subscribe to these databases. Their interfaces are highly visual and their content is child-friendly, making them easy to use and appropriate for the elementary classroom. Children searching though these databases will find a variety of resources to use in their assignments and projects including, newspaper and magazine articles, images, and encyclopedia and dictionary entries.

The following magazines are written for children. They are available through Geisel Library's online database subscriptions. Feel free to browse through these titles to get familiar with the various magazines available for children.
